Walk Thru the Old Testament
This fantastically fun seminar takes the participants through the story of the Old Testament using speed teaching techniques in four sessions over 6 hours. In this time participants learn off by heart:
1. A Structure of the Old Testament.
2. The Storyline of the Old Testament.
3. A Key word and brief outline of each book of the Old Testament.
Each participant gets to take away a beautiful manual from the seminar. Also during the seminar there are practical applications - life change lessons that every person can walk away with and grow with.
Literally millions of people around the world have been won to the Lord attending a Walk Thru Seminar, many more have had their lives re-established in God.
The seminar has a fixed format, but the presenter is free to tell the stories of the Old Testament in a way that he feels led by the Spirit at the time. As a result some amazing things can happen in a group of people that are totally unexpected. So each Walk Thru OT seminar is a unique and live event. (For this reason Walk Thru has never felt happy about videoing the seminar.)
Walk Thru the Old Testament is probably the greatest way of introducing Young Christians to the Old Testament - but repeatedly older Christians, of many decades of standing in Christ, come out saying things like, "You know I never knew that before."
The normal way of presenting the Seminar is in 6 hours on a Saturday (9-5 with breaks for lunch and drinks). Because of health reasons I prefer not to do this format any more (I still will if absolutely necessary, but I prefer not to) - it is simply too exhausting for me, but I have found the following formats to be even more effective:
1. Once a week for 4 weeks on an evening.
2. Friday night (one session) and part of Saturday (3 Sessions).
3. Half on Saturday, Half Sunday afternoon after lunch.
4. My favouriute - to do it as camp speaker over a weekend. This is an incredibly good camp.
Of course it costs. The manuals have a charge and my expenses need to be covered. The manuals are part of the learning experience and so are a necessary part of the course. They are also a ticket - anytime, anywhere in the world if you find the same Walk Thru seminar on, your manual will get you in the door for free again. Various charge options are available. But a seminar like this in the world would cost you $200 or more a day per person. Any way we charge is going to be cheap at the price.
Walk Thru the Old Testament seminars have been presented with resounding success to all Denominational groups - Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant and Pentecostal. Even Jewish congregations have loved it because it is a simple presentation of history with simple spiritual applictions.
